Jon Carroll w The Beat Hotel @ 40th Anniversary Takoma Park Street Festival

Columbia Avenue Stage-- Takoma Park, MD 20912, Takoma Park, United States , Columbia Avenue and Hickory Avenue, Takoma Park, Md.

What a wonderful to catch up to our life, love, lyrics, tunes and laughter!

It's the 40th Anniversary of the Takoma Park Street Festival this year! We'll be making a few changes and following health guidelines closely, but looking forward to another great event.

The festival will take place on a half mile stretch of Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park, MD, to Carroll Street NW in Takoma, DC, with artisans, community groups, children’s activities, food vendors, and a variety of green companies.

The festival has three stages that host 18 popular, local bands performing music from indie folk, rock, blues, country, reggae, and everything in between. FREE ADMISSION!

The Beat Hotel is a top-drawer bunch of a band that is nice enough to not only have me along for the funk and frolic, but they kill it but good on some of my tunes, as well. I love them, and it's always a treat. Wait...have we done this before--YES! If you missed us at Pearl Street Warehouse last month, well...

Shoppers will find paintings, photographs, pottery, silk-screening, soaps, stained glass, jewelry, woodworking, textiles, ceramics, kids’ items and much more! Kids also love the festival with its crafts, face painting, inflatables and MORE!

Music Therapy Retreat for Veterans

 —  —

Andover, MA

It's an honor to be onboard for this retreat. Mack Bailey is an old friend and wow-worthy artist and singer, who now lives and works wonders in Colorado for most of the year. He founded Music Therapy of the Rockies Retreat for Veterans, an amazing organization that appreciates and cultivates all that music has ever meant to me in a direct and effective way to help out those dealing with critical issues. I couldn't be more thrilled to be a participant. Check out their website and get involved!

Jon Carroll Part 2 of Live Interview and Play Party on "Forbidden Alliance Radio" Show

WOWD Radio--"Forbidden Alliance Show"

We'll be picking up where we left off (around the time Starland Vocal Band formed) hanging, chin-wagging and record-spinning for a few hours with Weasel and Robbie White. This is a top drawer show that covers a lot of ground hither, yon, before and beyond and since I have a robust & checkered past, present AND future, we'll have a lot to listen to and talk about!

"Because We Have Music" Virtual House Concert Series Featuring Grammy winner Jon Carroll and Saxophonist Marshall Keys

https://www.facebook.com/kidpanalley/events/

I'm eagerly looking forward to catching up with my old friends Paul Reisler (we've collaborated since waaaay back---his Kid Pan Alley Projects are amazing, and I'm extremely proud to be a part of them) and Marshall Keys who's amazing and has been for some time in and around DC as well as ALL over!

"There’s a whole lot of great music bottled up at home right now with nowhere to go, a mess of creativity hiding under the bed…. and it’s time to enjoy it! Kid Pan Alley presents the “Because We Have Music” series featuring some of the finest musicians mostly from Virginia — Sunday evenings at 7pm. Hosted by KPA’s Paul Reisler & Cheryl Toth, each concert will feature local artists performing from their homes in an “in-the-round” format. Past concerts have included Tom Paxton, Kathy Mattea, Darrell Scott, John McCutcheon and many others. Read the article in the Rappahannock News.

To get the intimacy of an in-person house concert, we’ll have a “virtual living room” where a small audience can ask questions and talk live with the musicians. These seats are limited, so sign up below to snag one! Everyone else can RSVP below to watch live on Facebook.

Grab a drink and some favorite snacks, put your feet up, and get inspired by the songs and the stories behind them — Sundays nights at 7pm. The concerts are free, but there will be a virtual tip jar if you’d like to show your appreciation to the musicians. Thanks to RAAC for their support of this project."

Sunday, Aug 9th at 7pm • Jon Carroll • Marshall Keys • hosts Paul Reisler & Cheryl Toth
