Hi Jon - great site. After your gushing recommendation, I bought the Book of Love. It is fantastic. I am not someone who will read a book more than once, but this is one that I will read again and again. Any other recommendations?

Jon,
I have a copy of the 1971 BIson's album that was given to me in 1971 by my long lost friend, Cindy Herman who also played in the group. Do you know any current information about her? I sure would like to see how she is. Keep up the great music going.

I caught your show last year at the Athenaeum in Old Town. You hadn't really changed at all since the last time I saw you play,in 73 or 74 I think, with Mike Cotter in Fredricksburg. My wife and I caught your Barns show in March. What fun. I hope to catch your show next week.Best wishes, Richard

Jon, been listening to your version of "A Case of You" on the CD tribute to Joni...I really think you felt that song in your heart...and that's what it takes to sing Joni's song (great job!). I had to look you up because I knew there was another connection other than the Woodstock Celebration at the Strathmore. Now we go back to Cellar Door Productions, when you played with Bill & Taffy, memories.... At that time I was listening to Joni sing "A Case of You" and the rest of her songs "Blue" album...and all those tunes ran through my heart. Its nice to reconnect with the past.

Kathy Buenaventura (KB) - Friday, August 14th, 2009 12:18 AM
Hi Jon! Saw you tonight at the Woodstock tribute at Strathmore! What a wonderful performer and musician you are. Those days with the BISons really paid off. Congratulations on your success. Still remember "Peanut Butter and Jelly"! All the best. KB from St. Mary's

Wayne Greene - Friday, August 7th, 2009 8:31 AM
G'day Jon, Wayne from Sydney Australia. Loved you at Wolftrap with Mary Chapin. Just wondering was that show a one off or were there more over different nights? Its still my favorite DVD. Are you still in contact with Mary ? Regards, Wayne in Australia

AS I RECALL, THAT WAS EDITED FROM A 2-NIGHT ENGAGEMENT'S WORTH OF PERFORMANCES.

Truly a treat to get to hear you at the Outa The Way Cafe with S/S T. Edwin Doss. You are so right when you stated he is a clever and prolific songwriter. What you bring musically and creatively to his songs gives a special finesse and spirit that I now know only you could deliver. Jon you are quite the artist and I am happy to have meet you Tuesday night! Come join the station and share your music, we'd love to host you here in Coastal Virginia at WRRW "Revolutionary Radio Williamsburg"!

Bruce Milam - Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 1:21 PM
I met you the first time when you were a BI cheerleader and I was dating a friend of yours, Pam Hogue. You and I used to talk between your sets playing the piano during Happy Hour at Quincy's of Arlington. I've followed your career closely. Do you have any plans to play Richmond, VA anytime soon? I don't get out much anymore!

Bob Ferrante - Sunday, June 21st, 2009 11:27 AM
Hi Jon,
You probably don't remember me but I was a CUA on first floor spaulding hall when you were plying around on campus. Just ran across your web site and you are better than ever. You made my day. keep on making beautiful music.

John Frye - Friday, June 19th, 2009 3:25 PM
Saw you at Arnone's Crawfish Fest this past month and was proud to see a local musician getting some exposure sitting in with a hot national act (Eric Lindell). Great gig, all the best.

Dolly Stevens - Monday, March 9th, 2009 10:27 PM
Hi Jon,
Do you believe in 6 degrees of separation? I've known of your existence so to speak, but only recently realized we crossed paths back at GTE Telenet in Tysons Corner...sometime between the fall of '81 and the fall of '83. Leslie Guttenburg was a mutual friend. I also think she gave you one of my Harry Chapin albums in exchange for John Dawson Read's album, "A Friend of Mine is Going Blind". I never got Harry back, and yes- I've still got JDR. Does any of this ring a bell? You were a temp at Telenet I think. Maybe. I might have that wrong. But I pieced it together when I made the SVB connection and the "Get Closer" song for LR, which as I remember was a deal that happened around that time. Anyway, I'm probably whistling in the wind here, but thought I'd send a shout out. Would like to catch your act Saturday night. Will try my best. --Dolly Stevens (same name as then)

Hey Jon, Driving through rural Loudoun County on Thanksgiving Day, I could see where you got the inspiration for "On The Front Porch". Makes a nice image as I listen to the song!

Doubt that you recognize the name, but I'm a St. Mary's alum, the same years you were at BI. Went to St. Mike's as well with Mike Cotter. I recall you both playing in the lot behind SMA - great music then! I also recall you opening for George Carlin at Kennedy Center. Congratulations on all of your success - I'm looking forward to seeing you at the Barns in Oct.

Steve - Friday, July 25th, 2008 11:17 PM
It's late and I can't say enough how super the show was last night at Bangkok Blues. Easy going, laid back, slowly heating up the music from a low simmer to a roiling boil. It was great. Loved the humor, especially the story of the Karaoke Tent at the Minnesota State Fair (my folk's home state), where you puzzled the "small town sheriffs", who couldn't quite figure out what you were doing, with your version of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" in "duck voice", while your band mates fell out howling with laughter. Thanks for your double encore. Hope you will continue at Bangkok Blues or a nearby venue. God bless you and the band for a fun and enjoyable night.

Tim & Annette - Wednesday, June 11th, 2008 10:32 AM
Just to add a few more well deserved congrats & heartfelt tributes.....we love you...come on by....any time....we're always here.

With that sweet voice and inspired lyrics you rock it up and down the street!

I was at BI when you were a senior. I remember playing drums, while you play on the piano(upstairs in the band room--Mr. Whaley). Some school came to BI and played a concert and you jammed with them afterwards... Do you still play the tuba? Good luck!

Jon,congratulations on all the awards. Great to see you're doing great.

Hi John
Remember the summmer in Fenwick Island - too long ago to remember. We were all just kids and you met my sister on the beach... You stayed at our beach house with a couple of your buddies. I still remember you belting out those Arlo Guthrie songs! I hope the years have been good to you. Take care.

Hi Jon,

It was a thrill listening to you and Ben at the Robertson's House Concert. It was well worth driving 350 miles round trip to hear the two of you performing as individuals and harmonizing together. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Ok, I have been a fan of yours for YEARS...am I the only one who remembers your Artful Dodger in BI's "Oliver" (my brother was in your class i think and my sister in the Chorus of Oliver)? I was at the taping of the SVB concert at Georgetown U(?)or somewhere around there back in the 80s, now my 15 yr. old listens to Afternoon Delight which he discovered on his own (even though I have the album)...I also heard you harmonizing with one of my favorite folksters, John McCutcheon. I live near B'more/DC and hope to hear your new tunes soon!

Jon, thought of you when I saw a photo of a real peach of a water tower. Went to this site (like it, especially the pix!) to get your email address to send a link to you. Since I'm here, I might as well write something! Enjoyed your contributions (many contributions - guess when you're good, everyone wants you to play with them!) at Strathmore. I'm no longer Mikey's boss (just retired - yipee!) but hope to see you around some time for that fine music.

Chuck Goings - Thursday, November 1st, 2007 4:14 AM

Johnny Faith - Tuesday, September 25th, 2007 4:48 PM
Jon,
I doubt you remember me, or my name, but I was working with a lot of the same crowd you were, about a decade+ ago- John Sprung, Stuart Smith (he so deserves the Eagle
gig!), to mention a few. Billy Coulter and I correspond on occasion and he sent me the link. Thought I'd run a parasitical routine and refer a few to my outdated web-page on. Go to mp3site on the washingtonpost site. Search Johnny Faith. Download a few tunes.
Jon- Good luck in all you pursue, you are a talented guy.

I have wondered for years what ever happened to my childhood playmate, once you moved away from good old Butler Rd. I still remember the talent show you were in at Gayle. Man how time goes by. The article Mike Zitz did on you was great. Everytime I hear afternoon delight,I think of you with fond memories.

I just purchased someone named Chris's old CD Jazz collection. In it was an early release of your CD called Home & Away, it was autographed by uou. I fell in love with the music and in an attempt to find out more about you and the CD I came accross your web site. I will be ordering the newer version of the CD for some of my fiends for Christmas gifts this year. I feel stupid that I didn't connect with your music earlier in my life, but going to school, working and raising two children kids took precident. Thanks for creating such beautiful and soulful music, Karen

Richard Weil - Monday, November 13th, 2006 12:38 PM
Hello Jon. Think we met (briefly) at Catholic University about 34 years ago and played guitar together in the stairwell of Spalding Hall.
Have lived in Takoma Park now about 28 years and have hosted house concerts the past six with local, national and international musicians. They have included several Azalea City musicians as well as bluegrass/Randy Barret, Orrin Star, Jimmy Gaudreau, Tom Gray, folk/Timm Harrison, Edie Carey, Karen Mal, Lisa Moscitello and Fred Lieder.
Take care and we're certainly intersted in hosting you if that works with your interest/ schedule next year.
